On the 25th August 2022, we received an emergency call out regarding an electrical fire in a school switch room, The incident resulted in the complete destruction of the primary electrical switch panel responsible for powering the entire school building
The school had lost all power and was scheduled to open within 7 days following the Summer Holidays. Within 5 days we had quoted, designed, installed and energised an N+1 generator set with MDU’s large enough to power the building. This approach not only restored power promptly but also allowed the school two additional days to engage their incumbent contractors for the essential testing of life safety systems, ensuring a safe and timely reopening.
Milletts Elecrical were additionally awarded the contract to install the new electrical switch panel, as well as renewing the sub mains through-out the building. The full project involved over 20 tonnes of cable, was run as a 24-hour site and was completed tested and handed over within 4 weeks.
